I moved to Ca. in 1969 with my first husband after finishing nursing school. He had a job with Rocketdyne right out of college. We raised 2 kids, but after 30 years we divorced. I married my current husband in 2000 and we have had a wonderful 10years.
Between us we have 4 granddaughters ranging in ages 2 years to 12 years. We travel a lot and spend as much time as possible with the kids and grandkids but none live right in this area...Mine live in northern Ca and his in Tulsa, Ok.
I retired from 40 years of nsg. last Nov. and have not missed it AT ALL!!! I find plenty to do at home and we have more travel flexibility now. Danny is a Financial planner/stock broker...he loves his work so he plans to continue for a few years.
We moved to Camarillo, Ca in Aug. 2008...love it here...we have mild winters and summers...cool ocean breezes. We plan to stay here. For anyone who is interested Camarillo is north of Los Angeles...about 50 miles south of Santa Barbara.
We have just become the proud owners of a new 36 foot RV. We have been enjoying a smaller one for the past 2 years and figured out all the things we wanted in a larger one and found it yesterday.(4/25) We intend to do a lot more traveling as Danny cuts back on work and we love the RV life!
